I found this advice extremely helpful for my Alpaca farm. Intestinal parasites are the second-leading cause of illness for North American alpacas.
1) Purchase elbow-length utility gloves
2) Acquire a large can of water-based lubricant
3) Be sure your alpaca has not eaten in the last 24 hours
